Due to recent Fire TV updates, if you are using a Fire TV device, please make sure to disable the following setting if available on your Fire TV device. Failing to disable this setting will result in any app, including ours, automatically exiting after a few hours of usage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Setting -> Preferences -> Data Usage Monitoring -> Still Watching, set this to OFF.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FireTV devices now include a feature that displays a \u201cStill Watching?\u201d message on the screen if the remote control has been inactive for the last 4 hours. Clearly, this is not ideal for digital signage but luckily the feature is simple to disable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. From the home screen go to settings and click on\u00a0Preferences<\/mark><\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Scroll down to\u00a0Data Usage Monitoring<\/mark><\/strong>\u00a0and click on it.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. If you have the latest software running on your FireTV device you will see the options below which includes the \u201cStill Watching\u201d setting. If \u201cStill Watching\u201d is absent you do not need to perform any further steps.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Scroll down to\u00a0Still Watching<\/mark><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Simply click to disable the setting.

    That\u2019s it. Your FireTV will now happily run without interruption.

    Pair small business and digital signage and you have a pretty powerful combination at play. That is, only if you know how to leverage digital signage features to market your business and create new customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    That begs the question: How exactly can you do this? For starters, if you\u2019re a small business, you\u2019re likely operating on a limited budget and you don\u2019t have time to manage a complex signage system or the leeway to outsource it to an expert outside of your operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In order to set up EasyTV on your Amazon Fire TV Stick, plug it into your TV\u2019s HDMI port and make sure it\u2019s connected to the internet. You can check this quick guide<\/a> from Amazon if you need help setting up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Install the EasyTV player app from the Amazon Appstore.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1-<\/strong> Plug the Fire TV Stick directly into the HDMI port on the back of your TV, or use an HDMI extender if you don\u2019t want it plugged directly into the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2-<\/strong> Plug the power adaptor into your TV Stick and plug the other end into a power outlet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3-<\/strong> Connect the TV Stick to the internet following the instructions on the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4-<\/strong> Go to Firestick Apps and Download EasyTVApp to start to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Set up your EasyTV account<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you have not already registered on EasyTV Platform, go to http:\/\/app.easytv.io <\/a>to start your 14-day free trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After successfully logging in, you can click Add New Screen on the welcome page. Alternatively, you can navigate to the Screens page in the top navigation bar and click Create Screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Let\u2019s Pair your Screen<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After creating your screen, go to your device and enter the PIN code. Now your Screen is ready to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Publish content with EasyTV Platform<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Go to the playlist and click on New Playlist. When you are creating your playlist in the \u201cScreens\u201d field select the Screen that you want the content to appear. Done! Your content is Live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
